Threads introduces highly-requested “Following” feed in latest update

In an exciting move welcomed by Instagram Threads users, the long-awaited “Following” tab has finally been rolled out in the latest update. This addition comes as one of the most requested features by users, and its implementation has sparked joy across the Threads community. The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, expressed his enthusiasm for fulfilling users’ demands, stating, “Ask and you shall receive.”

The new Following feed offers a seamless way for users to exclusively view content from the people they follow. By simply tapping the home icon or the Threads logo at the top of the page, users can conveniently toggle between the Following feed and the “For You” feed. However, there seems to be a minor issue with the app reverting to the “For You” feed when reopened after a complete shutdown. This glitch is expected to be addressed promptly in upcoming updates.

Threads, initially launched with a basic set of features, including an algorithm-driven feed of posts from both users and brands. However, this approach received mixed feedback from users who sought a more personalized experience. With the introduction of the Following feed, Threads takes a significant step forward in empowering users to curate their content and connect more meaningfully with the accounts they follow.

Aside from the Following tab, Threads users will also benefit from additional updates. Mark Zuckerberg announced that the app now supports translations. By tapping a small button on the bottom right of a Threads post, users can conveniently access translations, enhancing their ability to interact with a diverse global audience.

The Verge reports that some users have already spotted the Following tab on both iOS and Android versions of the app following the Monday update, confirming that the feature is gradually being rolled out to the broader user base. This move by Threads reflects Meta’s commitment to continuously improving user experiences across its platforms. By actively addressing user requests and feedback, the company demonstrates its dedication to fostering a vibrant and engaged community within Threads.

The Threads app has evolved significantly since its initial launch, and with the introduction of the Following feed and translation support, it is well-positioned to compete in the highly competitive social media landscape. Users can now look forward to a more personalized and language-inclusive experience as they engage with the content they love and connect with others who share their interests.

As Threads continues to evolve, it is likely that more exciting features will be introduced, solidifying its place as a popular platform for sharing moments, interests, and connections in a more meaningful way. Whether you’re a long-time Threads user or new to the platform, the recent updates are sure to add value to your social media experience.
