Ok so, Lego has dropped a detailed version of the Fab Five in their Atlanta loft and we didn’t know we needed this set till just now. Also, Tan’s hair looks even better in Lego form than human form…if that’s even possible.
The loft – co-designed by Bobby, of course – features a grooming section for Jonathon, a clothing rack for Tan, a kitchen kitted out with utensils for Antoni and a calming living space with plants for Karamo to council in. Not to mention, Bruley the dog – the fan-favourite French bulldog who sadly passed away in 2019 – has been resurrected in Lego form. Karamo’s scrapbook and Antoni’s avocados also make an appearance, naturally.
“Queer Eye has had such a positive impact on so many people’s lives which is why we are excited for this collaboration,” said Matthew Ashton, lead designer on the set. “It reminds us that we need to take time to celebrate kindness and help build each other up. In this set we’ve captured themes central to both the Lego Group and the show – caring, creativity, learning and fun. While the Fab Five rebuild people’s lives, we are on a mission to inspire people to get creative and help rebuild a more positive world.”
We have saved the best till last. The set, massing to a total of 967 pieces, also includes a Kathi Dooley figure – Jonathan’s old music teacher from series four and one of the most iconic transformations on the show. There’s even a “transformation chamber” where you can recreate Kathi’s before and after reveals.
Interior designer Bobby reminisces how Lego bricks played “such an important part” in his childhood and sparked his “imagination and creativity”. So to collaborate with the Lego team was a dream come true for him. “It would be any kid’s dream and now it’s my reality.”
The new series of Queer Eye hits Netflix very soon.
