New Greenpeace film raises awareness to the UK plastic waste problems

Animated film Wasteminster sees Boris Johnson showered with plastic to raise awareness of the vast amounts of waste that the UK exports overseas.

The two-minute film shows Borris Johnson delivering a speech to the press outside 10 Downing Street, Westminster where he talks about being a “global leader in tackling plastic pollution”, before a barrage of plastic starts to pour down from above on him.

The plastic creates a surge that floods Downing Street, carrying away Johnson and Gove (who is initially shown smirking in the background while Johnson speaks. While the film features crafty animation, at the end it cuts to real footage of plastic waste that has been dumped and burned overseas, to highlight the devastating effects that UK plastic waste exports are having.
