Instagram is testing a new feature that has users buzzing: Instagram Notes.

Instagram Notes allows users to post short disappearing updates and announcements that only appear in the app’s Inbox section.

While the Instagram Notes feature is only a test, it’s not too surprising considering Instagram’s priorities in 2022.

“We’re always working on ways to help you better connect on Instagram. We’re now testing Notes so people can quickly share thoughts with their friends, with a small group of people to star,” a Meta spokesperson said.

Instagram Notes allows you to send short messages (similar to Post-its) to your “Close Friends” list or to followers who follow you back. Notes expire after 24 hours and can only be 60 characters long. Users can respond to notes via direct message.
