How to use TikTok Now

TikTok recently began testing TikTok Now, its BeReal clone that encourages creators to share a live look at their lives once per day. TikTok will notify users once per day, and they will be encouraged to share their TikTok Now post within three minutes of receiving the notification. Each TikTok Now post can include a 10-second video or static image captured with the front- and back-facing cameras on the user’s device at the same time.

Our guide will show you how to use the TikTok Now feature within the TikTok app.

Step 1: Tap “Friends” in TikTok’s navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: If this is your first time using TikTok Now, you’ll see an introduction to the feature. Tap the push notification at the top of the screen to begin creating your first TikTok Now.

Step 3: Tap or tap and hold the capture button at the bottom of the screen to capture a photo or video, respectively.

Step 4: Tap the checkmark icon near the bottom of the screen to continue. Note: If you want to retake your photo or video, tap “Retake” in the top-right corner of the screen. If you want to change who can view your TikTok Now post, tap “Everyone can view” above the checkmark icon.

Once you share your TikTok Now post, you can view other posts on the app’s TikTok Now feed.
