How to Analyze and Improve YouTube Data?

Alright, now that you know how to access and see the YouTube analytics data for your channel(s), let’s get down to how you can use those numbers to analyze and improve your YouTube content.

So, take a quick look at the pointers below to learn how to analyze the YouTube analytics data of your channel and optimize your YouTube content:

1. Check Your Top Content and Produce Similar Videos

Now, on the Overview page of the Analytics tab in YouTube Studio, you will find a list of the top-performing Shorts and videos on your YouTube channel for the past 28 days.

So, go through this list to analyze what your channel viewers prefer to watch, and start posting similar content on your YouTube channel. This can hugely improve your YouTube analytics data and take it to the next level.

2. Know Your Audience to Create Relevant Content

The Audience section in YouTube Analytics is a significant source of data that you can leverage to improve your channel content.

The Audience page not only provides a clear overview of your channel audience via the Returning viewers and Unique viewers metrics but also shows when most of your viewers are on YouTube, where are they from, what they like to watch, and the overall demography.

So, use the Audience data to optimize your YouTube videos and produce relevant content that will cater to most of the users who come to watch your channel. This can significantly improve the click-through rate (CTR) numbers and improve your YouTube analytics data.

3. Check How Viewers Find Your Videos and Use a Relevant Strategy

Another important YouTube Analytics metric that can help you optimize your content is the “How viewers find your videos/Shorts”. You can find this under the Content section on the YouTube Analytics page.

Now, as you can see, most of my viewers find my videos and Shorts via YouTube search. This means that if I use appropriate keywords in my content, my videos and Shorts can rank higher on the search results page on YouTube and increase their discoverability.

So, analyze how viewers of your YouTube channel find your content on the platform and adopt a relevant strategy to improve your YouTube analytics data.

4. Experiment New Content Strategies Based on YouTube Analytics Data

The Analytics tab in YouTube Studio is a great source of YouTube data that can give you a proper overview of your channel performance, audience, and content.

So, if you are a serious YouTube creator or marketer, you must review the YouTube analytics data of your channel(s) from time to time. Analyze all the important metrics like view counts, watch time, click-through rate, and others to come up with new content strategies.
