Most creatives, when designing a website, spend quite a lot of their effort focusing on it looking very creative. Often with complex portfolio showcases. This isn’t always the most client-friendly way, as it can be challenging to navigate or find the right information.
𝟭. 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆! This is probably the most important point to work on. Use storytelling to not only just publish your portfolio posts (through images/videos) but also use blog-style posts, where you can outline the story of the project, what you’ve done and how you made it a success.

𝟯. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳! This is becoming increasingly popular with clients. They are gateways for clients to hire you for their project. WHY? It’s a more clear and easier way to express what you can offer to their project whilst outlining your skills and experience.
𝟰. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? Getting applause from peers or getting sales? When designing a website, always be considerate of what the client would like to see. You can also ask your clients for feedback on your website!
