Why and how does Wishu ask for my ID for verification?

ID verification is first and foremost in place in order to provide a safe community with verified freelancers and to prevent fake accounts to improve the quality of the platform for clients and freelancers alike.

To preserve your privacy our team does not verify ID documentation nor do we store any ID documentation in our systemsVerification is done by an EU licensed and regulated financial institution, Mangopaythat handles all financial transactions on Wishu. This is in line with EU anti-fraud and anti-money laundering laws. This system is in place in order to keep your data safe and to prevent fraud.

To verify, please see the following steps:

  1. Go to your profile by tapping on the profile icon on the right side of the menu tab.
  2. Tap on “Edit profile”
  3. Tap on “Verify your profile using an ID card” If this section is greyed out and you cannot tap it, it means that you’ve already submitted your ID and it is being processed. If verification fails, you will be able to tap it again.
  4. Take a photo or upload scans of the front and back of your ID. If you are using your passport, or other document where there is no ‘back’, then please upload the same ID document image twice.
  5. When finished, it can take up to 24 hours during Monday-Friday to verify your documents. Please email us at support@wishu.io if you feel yours has gone on for too long and we’ll update you on your status.

All done! If your verification was successful, you will get an ID verified badge on your profile.
