10 ways to make money as a creator – no matter your following size

In many ways, an audience is a client base. If you have a dedicated, consistent audience on a social platform it’s worth having a think on how you can capitalise on making money through the engagement. Here are just a few ways you can start.

Join a Talent AgencyĀ

If you showcase consistent engagement and produce high quality content, it’s likely that an agency might want to sign you. The best way to do this is to email various agencies a media kit. A media kit can be around one to five pages long as long as it clearly and concisely shows off what you can offer a brand. For example, if you consistently attract between 4,000 and 6,000 story views every 24 hours on Instagram, add this statistic onto your media kit. Unpack your audience, what your engagement % is and statistics from your most viral Reels and TikToks. If you demonstrate your niche and strengths an agency might sign you. The benefits of signing are being pitched by the agency to brands.

Let’s say, for example, Costa Coffee gets in touch with your agency asking for a Latin, female, fashion Instagrammer with between 10,000 and 20,000 followers. If you fit the brief, they might pitch you. If you win the pitch, Costa will ask you to make content on behalf of their brand and pay you handsomely for it.Ā
